The Aubade brand evolved from a French corset manufacturing company and was brought into existance in 1958 by Claude Pasquier. Though it is still led by the Pasquier family and all manufacturing is entirely in France, Aubade Lingerie was aquired by the Swiss firm Calida in 2005. Calida is best known for its comfortable, practical and rather dull pyjamas. Although we hope that Aubade Lingerie will eventually infuse some glamour into Calida, we recently attended a Calida fashion show and saw no evidence of that; Calida is as 'practical' as ever.
